Casual Labour in Peruvian Agrarian Co-operatives

Jose Maria Caballero

Chapter 7 in Work, Income and Inequality, 1983, pp 168-188 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract In this chapter I present a simplified model of the behaviour of the agrarian co-operatives of Coastal Peru. The model is particularly oriented — and thus restricted — to explain the relationship between the member and non-member work forces, and to illuminate the reasons why co-ops tend to make a wide use of casual non-member workers.
