Abstract Here is a view of accountability from a director of Social Audit Ltd. In attempting to explain this not-easily-defined term, Charles Medawar points out that accountability is apt to be regarded generally as not very constructive and he suggests that negative attitudes to accountability may possibly be derived from childhood experience.
