The Economics of the Frontier
Guido Tella
Chapter 13 in Economics in the Long View, 1982, pp 210-227 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract This work analyses some peculiarities of the economic expansion of the frontier and of the process of growth based on it. First, rather succinctly, it examines some of the main frontier expansions, so as to understand the nature of the historical processes which have given rise to our kind of questions. It then proceeds to the analysis of two different concepts of the frontier.
