Research and Development

Chapter 17 in Analysis of the British Construction Industry, 1984, pp 283-287 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract There are a number of sources of data on research and development expenditure1 but none of them gives more than a very partial view, because in construction the research and development is undertaken often by other industries, notably building materials industries, which are not separately specified in the statistics, and by categories of organisations where no separate split of construction is possible, such as academic institutions.
