The Mechanism of the Multilateral Economic Cooperation between the CMEA and Finland

Chapter 7 in Finnish-Soviet Economic Relations, 1983, pp 79-85 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The history of the multilateral cooperation between the CMEA and Finland covers less than 10 years. The cooperation agreement between the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance and the Republic of Finland was signed in May 1973. It was the first attempt to organize the multilateral cooperation between the socialist countries and a market economy. In this sense the practical implementation of the 1973 agreement is important in the context of the whole system of East-West economic relations.
