Abstract In the previous chapter we found that there were three determinants of the money supply: (a) the asset preferences (cash/deposit ratio) of the commercial banks (b) the preferences of the non-bank public regarding the form in which they wish to hold their money (i.e. as deposits or notes) (c) the cash reserves of the commercial banks
