Abstract: Abstract My intention is to discuss not the objectives of employment policy generally, but specifically the objectives of the real socialist system as it exists in the three countries under review. Such an approach is warranted since the socioeconomic setup in the socialist states has a far-reaching impact, particularly on employment policy; it should not be forgotten that the three countries have centrally planned economies (though differently applied) and are committed to full employment.
