Abstract:
Abstract The financial effects of the energy crisis have received at least as much attention since the first oil shock as the effects described in the previous two chapters. The size of the balance of payments imbalances caused by sudden changes in the price of oil, the ‘recycling’ of OPEC surpluses and the debt crisis have all been analysed in considerable detail.
