Chapter 6 in Economic Transition in Hunan and Southern China, 1984, pp 111-132 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The development of Hunan’s rural industry is intended to supplement agriculture and facilitate its gradual mechanisation. While agricultural mechanisation provides an important link between farm and nonfarm activities, repair and maintenance of farm machinery and subcontracting link rural industry to large urban industry. It is therefore logical to examine, in this chapter, the problems of and the growth prospects for Hunan’s rural industries.
