Ratios in general

Edwin Whiting

Chapter 17 in A Guide to Business Performance Measurements, 1986, pp 209-213 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract So far in this book we have been concerned with absolute amounts, expressed in £s. The only comparison that can be made is of one period with another. Ordinary accounts do not compare one amount with a related other amount or physical unit. This requires another calculation which results in some form of ratio.
