Chapter 21 in A Guide to Business Performance Measurements, 1986, pp 252-259 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Operating profit is probably the leading measure of performance for most businesses. It is the prime element of the most important financial ratios. These ratios can be split down into subsidiary ratios as is shown in Chapter 19 (p.232). But there is still one element missing that has a significant effect on profit ; and that is the efficiency of production.
