Summary: The Characteristics of Excellence

Steven I. Davis

Chapter 10 in Excellence in Banking, 1985, pp 117-127 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract The previous chapters have painted a series of portraits based on the current management practice of sixteen successful banking institutions. Superimposed upon each other, however, they present a blurred and often conflicting image. Is it possible to filter out those features which are not essential from those central to excellence? Would this produce a more meaningful and distinct characterisation?
