Abstract:
Abstract Years ago, I used to have a bedsitter in West Hampstead, a stone’s throw from the shopping centres of Kilburn. A small grocer’s shop opposite my house was still in existence in spite of tough competition from Tesco, Sainsbury, and Waitrose. I often wondered how it managed to survive the onslaught of supermarkets.
