Chapter 9 in Working Below Capacity, 1987, pp 276-303 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract In Bosworth and Westaway (1986) a number of hypotheses were outlined to explain the determination of average weekly hours, concentrating on the aggregate manufacturing sector. In this chapter, the analysis is at a much more disaggregated level, distinguishing many different industries and categories of worker in the labour market.
