Chapter 10 in The Gulf Economies in Transition, 1988, pp 182-204 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract This chapter presents a brief review of the other economic sectors in the region, namely agriculture and services sectors. The latter does not include banking and financial sectors as these have already been discussed in Chapters 5 and 6, while trading activities were picked up in Chapter 9. The presentation under other services will, therefore, be confined to insurance, aviation, hotels and shipping.
