The European Free Trade Association
Victoria Curzon Price
Chapter 5 in International Economic Integration, 1988, pp 96-127 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The European Free Trade Association [(EFTA)-(II)] celebrated its 25th anniversary in 1985. It was smaller and leaner than the EFTA of 1960, but doubtless more viable. The nature and aims of EFTA-(I) (1960–72) — see Price (1974) and EFTA Secretariat 1980a and 1980b — form the first part of this chapter, while EFTA-(II) and its members’ relationship with the European Communities (EC) occupy the remainder.
