Educational Administration and Law and Order

Chapter 4 in South Korea, 1988, pp 53-72 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The educational system has the main responsibility for disseminating not just the guidelines of politicians, although, in South Korea, this is an important function, but of providing a foundation of knowledge, both specific and general to its needs. It must therefore make the nation self-sufficient in terms of labour for industrial growth as well as providing opportunities for technological advance. It must also conserve the much-cherished history, customs and arts and crafts of an ancient civilisation. Its pattern and scope reveal a highly organised and comprehensive bureaucracy.
