Chapter 12 in The Theory and Measurement of International Economic Integration, 1989, pp 254-290 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The previous three chapters were devoted to the estimation of the effects of economic integration on manufactures. The concern of this chapter is with the calculation of the costs of economic integration on agriculture. However, the only scheme of economic integration that has a policy specifically directed towards agricultural products is the European Community (EC), a policy generally referred to as the ‘common agricultural policy’ (CAP). Hence the chapter is devoted entirely to the estimation of the costs of the CAP.
