Abstract:
Abstract Having defined the concept of uneven development and its measurement in Chapter 2, in this chapter we measure uneven development in China and India. This is done in Section I using the Yotopoulos— Lau (Y/L) and Lardy indexes discussed in Chapter 2. The measurement of intra-industry and disaggregated intersectoral linkages à la Hirschman is dealt with in Chapter 4.
