Abstract:
Abstract The Highway Beautification Act of 1965 (Public Law 89–285, 79 Stat. 1028) is a joint attempt by the federal government and the various state governments to provide for scenic development and road beautification of federally aided highway systems. There are three major sections of the Act: Title 1 and Title 2 deal with provisions for limiting and controlling outdoor advertising and junkyards adjacent to highways, whereas Title 3 is concerned with the need for the landscaping and scenic enhancement of highway systems.
