A chapter in Global Protectionism, 1991, pp 95-98 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Professor Hine focuses on two questions. First, is protection in the EC increasing? Secondly, how will the trade of countries outside the EC be affected by the EC’s Single Market programme, which is simply called ‘1992’? The second question raises two additional questions. How will the United States be affected and how might the US influence the details of 1992? In addition to requiring complex economic analyses, answers to these questions require a political assessment.
