Abstract:
Abstract Indonesia has a population of 166.4 million in an area of 1919 000 square kilometers. It was colonized by the Dutch in the seventeenth century and occupied by the Japanese during the Second World War. Following the declaration of independence on April 17, 1945, the Netherlands attempted to reimpose its colonial rule by force and only accepted Indonesia’s independence after four years of armed struggle.
