Abstract:
Abstract Malaysia has a population of 16.1 million in an area of 337 000 square kilometers. About 85 percent of the population resides in West Malaysia, which is located on the long and narrow Malay Peninsula. East Malaysia, consisting of the Borneo territories of Sabah and Sarawak, is 650 kilometers to the east and is separated from West Malaysia by the South China Sea.
