Abstract:
Abstract This chapter outlines what has already been done by 1991 and what is still being done in order to realise a single European market in the financial services sector. The objectives of the EC will be described, as will the principles applied in reaching those objectives and the state of play in the different sectors, with special emphasis on the banking sector.
