Chapter 9 in Off Balance Sheet Finance, 1993, pp 73-77 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract It is common in certain trades, such as motor vehicle dealerships, to obtain goods from manufacturers on a consignment basis. The deal generally involves the manufacturer despatching stock to dealers but retaining title until some further event has taken place, such as the sale of the car to the customer, or until a certain period has elapsed.
