Chapter 10 in The Economy of Ethiopia, 1992, pp 244-258 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract In a volume devoted to an overall consideration of income-generating opportunities in relation to development, it may seem strange to have a separate chapter on the problem of prostitution. It is a measure of its significance as one of the few ‘job’ opportunities available for many Ethiopian women that it has been given such prominence.
