Banking in Cyprus in the 1990s
Kate Phylaktis
Chapter 9 in The Banking System of Cyprus, 1995, pp 145-157 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract In this chapter, we consider how the banking industry may develop in the coming years. Two important factors which might affect price and non-price competition, bank strategies and market structure, are the deregulation of the domestic financial system and the adoption of the EC Banking Directives. The liberalisation of international capital flows may also have an effect on the banking structure.
