Abstract:
Abstract Johann Heinrich von Thünen (1783–1850),1 a German landowner and agriculturist, had already published before 1838 the first volume of his principal work, which was entitled Der isolirte Staat in Beziehung auf Landwirthschaft und Nationalökonomie. This volume was published again, with various improvements and clarifications, in 1842;2 the second volume was published in 1850–63 and the third in 1863.3
