Abstract:
Abstract Throughout Western Europe the 1990s have witnessed an intensified public debate on the future of the welfare state. The debate has been particularly vivid in Scandinavia and has been stimulated in part by the recent economic crisis in Sweden, a country which has been widely regarded as the world’s most advanced welfare state.
