Chapter 3 in Technology and Enterprise Development, 1994, pp 46-60 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The study of technological capabilities in Ghana is based on the findings of two surveys of manufacturing firms. The main part of the study, forming Part C of this book, derives from a case study sample of 32 firms that were interviewed in depth. There was also a larger panel survey with quantitative information, the findings of which are analysed in the next chapter. This chapter describes the methodology and background to the firms in the surveys. Both surveys were undertaken in August and September 1992.
