Learning from the Failures of Multimillion Dollar Projects

Dimitris N. Chorafas

Chapter 10 in High-Performance Networks, Personal Communications and Mobile Computing, 1997, pp 260-285 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract There is a serious misunderstanding in the market regarding terms which characterize high-performance computing, parallel computing, supercomputing and high-end mainframes. Much of this mixup has been created by the vendors’ own claims; another part is due to the lack of a standard terminology; still another to the missing link of appropriate software.
