The Morganization of America
Armand Dormael
Chapter 2 in The Power of Money, 1997, pp 10-20 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Of all the bankers who once manipulated huge amounts of money and inflected the course of history, only John Pierpont Morgan still casts his shadow over world finance. Long before his death in Rome in 1913 he had become the recognized ‘Caesar of Wall Street’. Yet, by Wall Street standards, his declared fortune was not exceedingly large; several of his partners and a number of business magnates owned much more money than he.
