Chapter 2 in The Strategic Dimensions of Environmental Management, 1998, pp 7-20 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract What drawbacks inherent in a market economy are the reason for our spendthrift use of natural resources? How can environmental commodities be used more sparingly with the aid of market forces and public policy? These questions form the subject of the first section of this chapter. The concept of sustainable development will then be discussed and a potential role for corporations in this framework explored.
