Chapter 18 in Sectoral Analysis of Trade, Investment and Business in Vietnam, 1999, pp 177-181 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Economic relationships between Vietnam and the ASEAN countries before the year 1986 were not strongly developed. Vietnam’s total export-import turnover in 1986 reached only US$120.1 million, of which as much as 70 per cent was obtained through bilateral trade with Singapore. In this period, relationships with COMECON countries in terms of commerce and investment played a dominant role in Vietnam.
