Making the Journey a Success

Alf Chattell

Chapter 9 in Creating Value in the Digital Era, 1998, pp 220-242 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Management’s role will be fundamentally changed as we move into the 21st century. This need not be a source of anxiety to those managers intent on making the future happen. The principles, concepts and practices for managing in the millennium are already becoming clear. Discussing what leadership in the 21st century will mean is not only timely, it is necessary — each and every manager now has a vital role in ensuring that their companies are continuously preparing for a different future.
