Convenience, Comparison and the Retail Results
Julian E. Markham
Chapter 16 in The Future of Shopping, 1998, pp 188-194 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract For those involved in the retail and merchandising industries, it is sometimes more difficult to perceive the broad changes reshaping the environment than for onlookers on the outside. We may also forget how vital the retail function is to the economy and to society as a whole. If we can view the basic fundamentals which help make retailing such an important industry, we can begin to understand the changes taking place and think of responses to the challenges.
