The Heart of Leadership
Peter Wickens
Chapter 4 in Energise Your Enterprise, 1999, pp 52-82 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract It is easy to come up with a list of positive qualities of leaders — I included some in Chapter 2 — and there are numerous ‘models’ and assessment techniques — action-centred leadership, situational leadership, the Blake-Mouton grid, Myers-Briggs, and so on. There are thousands of books and articles describing ‘what leaders do’, listing the traits of the successful, and providing anecdotes about the charismatic.
