Abstract:
Abstract Salaries are personal incomes from employment under contract. In the census year of 1961 the share of salaries in national income was one-quarter of the total national income, and the proportion of salary-earners in the economically active population was also one-quarter. (1) The share of salaries in national income subsequently rose to above one-quarter, but no data are available for the number of salary-earners between census years (except for manufacturing industry).
