Chapter 10 in Quantitative Methods in Construction Management and Design, 1975, pp 168-180 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract This chapter will primarily be of interest to contractors who are interested in improving their estimating and tendering practice. An understanding of the quantitative aspects of bidding will also be of interest to consulting engineers and others responsible for the placing of contracts. It can therefore be of help both to contractors and to clients that the interactions of bid levels, success rates and number of tenderers should be well understood.
