The Financial Aggregates

Chapter 13 in National Monetary and Financial Analysis, 1978, pp 147-164 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The preceding exposition of some of the factors influencing the asset-holding and liability-accepting desires of the important economic sectors, and of the adjustment processes that are instigated by changes in the availability of assets and liabilities, provides criteria for the identification of the important financial aggregates which the independent sectors should try to influence, or should observe when determining policy. These are the aggregates that should be identified in financial statistics.
