Abstract: Abstract Though there is a clear distinction between ‘packaging’ and ‘labelling’, we have lumped them together as one, because they overlap in two major functions: protection and display. In this chapter, we are concerned with both of these, and also with the monetary and ecological costs of packaging waste.
