Effects on Occupations and Skills

Stephen G. Peitchinis

Chapter 7 in Computer Technology and Employment, 1983, pp 108-131 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract To determine the possible effect of electronic processes on employment in service activities, it is necessary to first identify in some detail the service activities in which people engage, and then assess the nature and degree of impact electronic processes are likely to have on the performance of those activities. There will remain, of course, the question of new services, as existing services disappear or are modified, but that issue will be examined separately.
