Chapter 10 in Understanding Corporate Credit, 1983, pp 159-181 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract The quality of management is always an important factor in corporate credit and often the most important single factor, but is very difficult to judge objectively. J. P. Morgan was thought to be able to judge a man’s ability and integrity on the basis of one meeting and there may be some bankers today who pride themselves on the same ability; but most have to look for other criteria.
