Abstract:
Abstract This essay will examine the policies that may be applied to improve the performance of the Portuguese economy as the country becomes a member of the European Common Market. While the emphasis will be on medium-term policies, the essay will review the antecedents and the effects of the stabilization program adopted in June 1983.
