Case Study: Growth and Change at F International

Rosemary Symons

Chapter 8 in Businesswoman, 1987, pp 142-150 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract There is still an undeniable career barrier for women who want children as well. Often the nursery years away from work coincide with the very time when the woman’s continued presence at work is essential for progress in her chosen profession: a time when she has several years’ work experience behind her and is taking the first step or two on the managerial ladder. One way women have found to circumvent this is to strike out alone, set up their own companies or organisations and arrange their work around themselves.
