Chapter 7 in Job Generation and Labour Market Change, 1987, pp 205-237 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract In this chapter we assess the implications of our analysis for public policy, with particular reference to small firms. We begin in Section 7.2 by examining whether or not there should be public policies to promote the small business sector. We conclude that whether or not such policies can be justified, since they in fact exist in almost every developed country, it is appropriate to evaluate their effectiveness and suggest improvements.
