Abstract:
Abstract The first simple forecasting models were used in the 1920s–1930s during the construction of urban railways — the vehic. in priv. use was not predominant at that time (see Bendtsen.1) They were based on the number of publ. transport pass. trips per inh. The traffic at a given st. was then determined by the number of inhs in the st. hinterland. Often the publ. transport was calculated as proportional to the land values. One could further calculate a number of trips per line km per year.
