Abstract:
Abstract The riots in 1970 were a strong message to the Polish leaders that a rearrangement of priorities was needed and that workers wanted improvements without delay in the standard of living. They were no longer willing to sacrifice the present for a future which was, in their eyes, at best uncertain.
