Scotland on Screen: Two Strong Competitors
Alastair Hetherington
Chapter 23 in News in the Regions, 1989, pp 202-214 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Both the early evening programmes go chiefly for hard news. Unlike the English regions, they are rarely short of solid events. Wales and Northern Ireland have a similarly strong flow. Both Scotland Today (Sc. Tv.) and Reporting Scotland (BBC) vary their style towards the end of their half-hours — the former often with an agreeably light touch, and the latter with particular attention to the Arts.
