Abstract:
Abstract Let me begin by introducing myself. I do not count Marxism as among my influences; nor, do I call myself some kind of a Marxist because I retain from my youth an interest in particular themes that Marx emphasised.2 The qualifications involved in such statements are inappropriate. Simply stated, I am a Marxist economist. (The reader, of course, may wish to reserve judgement on this.) Further, I consider myself to be an ‘orthodox’ Marxist.
